The Canadian Red Ensign served as a nautical flag and civil ensign for Canada from 1892 to 1965, and later as an unofficial flag of Canada before 1965.

The Canadian Maple Leaf flag was adopted as Canada's official flag on February 15, 1965.

For many who resist modern Canadian tyranny and genocide, the Maple Leaf rag is rejected, and the Red Ensign used as an alternative, hearkening back to an era of a less terrible Canada.

When the remains of 215 Aboriginal children were uncovered on the site of the former Kamloops Indian Residential School, the Maple Leaf was flown at half-mast in numerous locations across Canada. This is of course the equivalent of flying Nazi flags at half-mast outside "Holocaust" memorials.
